Arrival at Bucharest Airport

Enjoy a classic panoramic tour on the way to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Bucharest – Sibiu

Breakfast. Transfer to Sibiu via Cozia Monastery, which you’ll visit. It is a good opportunity to see a great example of Romanian religious architecture, founded by Mircea the Wise, the grandfather of Vlad the Impaler. Proceed to Sibiu, a former Cultural Capital of Europe in 2007, for free time & a walking tour of the city’s old squares. This is the place where the Saxon colonists had their governing body, the Universitas Saxorum. The evening will find you in the village of Sibiel, admiring the beauties of nature and the glass icons in the village museum. Dinner will be served in a farmer’s house. Accommodation in Sibiu.

Sibiu/Hermannstadt – Fagaras – (Sinca)-Bran – Poiana Brasov

After breakfast and check-out you will travel to Fagaras you will visit the fortified castle built in the 14th century. You will continue directly to Bran Castle, the castle where once Dracula was supposed to have spent a fortnight. Continue to Poiana Brasov where you’ll spend the night & have a wonderful dinner in a local venue.

Poiana Brasov – Prejmer – Harman – Poiana Brasov

In the morning, after your breakfast, visit the center of Brasov/Kronstadt, namely the main square & the Black Church. You will then travel to Harman/Honigberg, a fortified church supposedly built by the Teutonic Knights, and to the fortified church in Prejmer. Return to Poiana Brasov for dinner at the restaurant of the hotel & accommodation.

Poiana Brasov – Viscri – Saschiz – Sighisoara

After breakfast leave Poiana Brasov for Viscri/Weisskirch, which is one of the most spectacular German fortified churches in Transylvania & a UNESCO Site, recently refurbished by Prince Charles. Continue to Saschiz, another spectacular location, also on the UNESCO list. Afternoon arrival in Sighisoara. Orientation, accommodation & dinner.

Sighisoara/Schaßburg – Biertan – Medias/ Mediasch – Sibiu/Hermannstadt

Breakfast. A morning tour of the medieval citadel & its Clock Tower will help reveal the mysteries of the only inhabited medieval site in Europe. After the walking tour, leave Sighisoara for Biertan, one of the best preserved fortified churches in Transylvania. Continue to Sibiu, with an option for photo stops in Axente Sever & Slimnic. Overnight & dinner in Sibiu.

Sibiu – Bucharest

(Tour can end in Sibiu, if there is an available flight home from the local airport)
Breakfast. Transfer to Bucharest. Possibility for lunch (not included) on the way to Bucharest. Arrive at your hotel in Bucharest in the afternoon. Evening at leisure. Farewell dinner in a local venue.
